Be the Leader of Your Life.

Help Our Young People Become Leaders, Too.

What does it mean to become the leader of your life?  It means you are very clear about how you want your life to be. It means having focus, self-discipline, a little humor, and self-love. I teach these the tools through my speeches, workshops, blog posts, and books.

Amazing things happen when we become the leaders of our lives. We face fears, discover the power of focus, rid ourselves of behaviors that don’t reflect who we are, and add daily practices into our lives that help us build what we truly want.  When we are willing to feed our own spirit life changes in ways that we never imagined.

My passion is to encourage others to create the life they most want for themselves and those they love. I’m a believer in ditching the drama-driven life. It’s disruptive and damaging. It prevents stepping back and taking an objective look, stepping up to leading ourselves from chaos into calmness. The drama-driven life weakens our mental and physical health and corrupts our values. Frankly, I believe it weakens our culture.

What happens when we become clear, focused, disciplined, are able to laugh often, and care for ourselves as a top priority?

  • Life becomes less hectic and provides more satisfaction.
  • Work becomes on target and more productive.
  • Relationship issues become clearer and easier to sort out.
  • Mental and physical health can improve.
  • You have more energy and enthusiasm for your life’s work.
  • You feel more centered within yourself and connected to your spirit.
  • You are able to walk through life with an expanded sense of compassion and love toward yourself and others.
  • Your children are calmer and healthier.

All the pieces of our lives are connected – our relationships, our work, our health, our play, our spirit, our emotional state – and each affects the other.  As we discover how to be mindful we naturally bring out our own senses of intuition and connection.  And what happens?  We begin to find ourselves in a sweet and powerful flow in life, with less drama, more peace, and the ability to easily create what we desire.

You’re invited to download my book, come to a workshop, or invite me to speak. I’ll encourage you to become the leader of your life.

The Way Through Suffering

February 7, 2021 by Sue Painter Leave a Comment

Graphic of book

A very dear, lifelong friend died of bone cancer. It's a very painful disease, and he was suffering in every hour. Even in his suffering, however, he reached for a higher consciousness, a change in his energy - and this sometimes astonished me, honestly. Not long before he died he told me that he'd had a bad day, but that I'd sent him a book many years ago that was helping him now. I was surprised - I'd long ago forgotten sending him the book. In it, he said, there's a question he now uses almost every hour. "Can you endure it?" Instantly, I knew this was from the writings of a wise man, Ajhan Chah. His way of helping others who came to … [Read more...]

Leader of Your Life – Using Herbal Remedies for Illness

December 9, 2018 by Sue Painter

herbal remedies for illness

Over 40% of the US Population Now Uses Herbal Remedies The National Institutes for Health reports that about 40% of Americans now use herbal remedies for illness. Why the switch back to natural medicines? People cannot afford to access medical care. Prescription drugs are sometimes quite expensive to obtain. People are interested in returning to a more natural way of treating illness and disease. Herbal remedies can work to better your health without the often harsh side effects of prescription drugs. Nearly half of the drugs approved by the Food and Drug Administration come from herbs and plants anyway. I've used herbal … [Read more...]

What To Do When Grief and Loss Overwhelm You

April 6, 2017 by Sue Painter

How to deal with grief and loss overwhelm

If you live long enough, you'll face a time when grief and loss overwhelm you. One of my long-time business mentors received a terrible shock. His oldest son, who was in his late 40's, was found dead in his car at the side of the interstate. The son and his family live far away, across the country from my mentor. Apparently, his son had started feeling bad while driving, pulled over, called his wife to say he'd be OK but felt bad and had pulled over for a moment. Later, he was found dead in his car. When something happens to us that is without warning, totally unexpected, and is as final as death we react with shock and disbelief. We … [Read more...]

Do You Add to Calmness or to Drama?

August 24, 2014 by Sue Painter

Add to Peace

It's Easy to Fall Into The Drama Ditch I think the bottom line most critical skill for us as leaders of our lives and models for our children is to keep our ground no matter what is going on around us or within us. Think back to the last time a frustrating or scary situation happened to you. Did you get completely knocked off your perch by some piece of drama that touched your life? Or maybe the life of a child or parent or spouse or friend? The truth is that we will always have some type of drama or upsetting situation touching our business or our personal lives. It is not the situation, it is how we react to the situation that frames how … [Read more...]

How To Become A Leader For Yourself and Others

February 28, 2014 by Sue Painter

how to become a leader

Do you think about how to become a leader? Have you heard that saying, "How we do anything is how we do everything?" For years I didn't understand it - until I started working with clients who wanted to perform better in their career or improve their parenting skills. I quickly noticed that often what we say we believe in (our values) don't match up with our behaviors. Here are a few examples. Statement: I know time is important and I value everyone's time. Behavior: Constantly being 5 to 15 minutes late meeting friends, family members, or children. Statement: I really want to move up in my career. Behavior: Taking sick leave to … [Read more...]
